Heritage Open Days (England) : 6-15 September 2024

Open Doors (Wales) : 1-30 September 2024

Doors Open Days (Scotland) : 1-30 September 2024

Is your church taking part this month in Heritage Open Days or Open Doors in England, Open Doors – Wales, or Doors Open Days in Scotland?

If your church is getting involved, we’d love to hear what you have planned. Or perhaps let us know how it went and what were the benefits to your congregation and wider community?

We are keen to showcase churches already making the most of the great free promotion and community engagement opportunities of these national festivals to use our Methodist heritage for mission. If you haven't taken part, let us know why not and if you have ideas how Methodist Heritage could support churches to take part in the future.

The Heritage Days festivals are national expressions of the European Heritage Days initiative, the 2024 theme of which is Routes, Networks & Connections.

They are organised under the auspices of the National Trust in England, Cadw in Wales and the Scottish Civic Trust in Scotland and celebrate Britain's fantastic history and culture every September. Places that sign up to be open and welcoming, offering something extra to engage visitors, get free promotion and merchandise. Search their websites for advice, inspiration and the myriad of free visits and activities that will be going on in your area this month.
