Facilities
An ancient Norman church founded in 1123, it survived the reformation, Great Fire of London and the air raids of two world wars, making it the oldest church in London still in its original state.
The pulpit was the last London Anglican pulpit made available to John Wesley, and he continued to preach here long after he had been debarred from other churches. The church is a stunning example of
Norman architecture located in the heart of Smithfield, which has a rich history of its own. Historical information panels in the cloister outline the history of the church and the surrounding area.
This 15th century cloister has recently been renovated to include a licensed café bar, which is open daily serving lunches, cakes and excellent coffee.
No admission charge but donations encouraged. Tours £10 per person.
