The National Portrait Gallery is home to the largest collection of portraiture in the world, featuring men and women who have helped shape British history and culture from the Middle Ages to the present day.

The gallery normally has on display the well-known portrait of John Wesley by Nathaniel Hone painted in 1766 and paintings of George Whitefield, Selina, Countess of Huntingdon, and a Moravian church group.
