Lake Farm House
Original farmhouse home of John and Mary Thorne (now a private house) and site of founding of 'Bible Christian' Methodist movement in October 1815.
Shebbear College is the second-oldest Methodist school in Britain, founded as 'Prospect College' in 1829 by the Bible Christians to train their sons for Christian ministry. There is an archive accessible by request primarily of Bible Christian material.
