Minutes of the Wesleyan Methodist Conference
As well as telling us what was discussed at the annual conference, the minutes list all the ministers for that year and where they are to be stationed, and which ministers have stopped being ministers. They also list the ministers who died in the previous year, with a short obituary.
We have a full set of minutes at Methodist Church House, as do the Methodist Archives and Research Centre in Manchester, but we are delighted to be able to tell you that many of the earlier years have been digitised, and made freely available on the internet.
If you want to know about an ancestor who was a Wesleyan Methodist minister who died between 1744 and 1860 or in a number of years between 1870 and 1900 follow these links.

Note Although the Minutes for 1863-1869 are not available online, it is possible to find the obituaries for those years, which were reproduced in The Wesleyan-Methodist Magazine. More work is required, in that you will need to navigate to the index at the end of each volume, and find out which page the obituaries are on, but at least they are there. The years currently available are
1863 and 1865-1869 http://solo.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/primo_library/libweb/action/
It appears that other editions have been reproduced by commercial publisher, but you would have to pay for those.
